Consider this a preface. Enthusiasm is broader than possession, and is toned down a notch by the Greeks themselves –because, come on– but there’s a reason I prefer the possessive tense, and I will get to it via opera and the metaverse.
I will of course touch on Nietzsche contra Wagner, and remind you Wagner didn’t even use the G word more than once or twice. I intend to, though; it serves some purpose for the overriding hyperbaroque thesis.
